About the CSSF
First established in 2001, the Cruise Safety and Sustainability Forum is a tripartite consortium of cruise ship operators, shipyards, and classification societies who nominate technical representatives having expertise in various aspects of cruise ship safety, from design and construction to operations and lifecycle maintenance. These experts work together to develop technical recommendations that are intended to advance cruise ship safety in the broadest sense.
In 2023, the CSSF changed its name from the Cruise Ship Safety Forum to the Cruise Safety and Sustainability Forum, to reflect its ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability.
The CSSF is guided by a Steering Committee comprised of senior industry executives who provide strategic direction and vision to the Forum.
Technical recommendations developed by the Forum are publicly available in the CSSF Library of Recommendations.
